Awana at Mableton First Baptist

February 2, 2022

This Awana meeting was promoted as "Souper Wednesday", and the children were given extra points for bringing cans of soup for the Food Pantry to the needy of the community. We collected 38 cans of soup.

Three of the girls in Sparks received awards, noted by patches and jewels on their red Awana vests.

Becky Ridgway continues to send out the guessing puzzles. This week the Sparks winner got the exact number! The adult winners were Billy Ridgway and Brenda Speight, who tied on the number.

Continuing with recognitions for two of the Sparks.

This week's Scripture learning awards go to three Sparks and one T&T Awanas.

Theresa Lamb with Awana girls at gametime.

The bingo-like game got them up to do an active exercise for each place on the board.

After the brief game and opening prayer is snack time. Melissa joins four from the youngest group.

After snacks and the pledges to the American and Awana flags and the Pledge to the Bible, we had the award ceremony for those who had learned enough Bible verses to get emblems or jewels on their vests. The younger Sparks group members have red vests.

This weeks awards were to two Sparks and two T&T members. The green shirts signify the older T&T group, and their awards are fastened to the shirts.

First the Sparks classes meet separately for Bible learning. Now they gather for the large group where Becky Ridgway leads in a Bible study.

This week the Bible story was followed by an active exercise to apply it. Melissa Little and Theresa Lamb assist the learners.
