Albert Marcus Speer and Family

Albert M. Speer and Nanny Gregory Speer and their children. Oldest is Karl, daughter Marietta, and baby Eugene. Eugene was born on August 10, 1898, so the picture dated 1899. Harlan not born yet.

p178 "Their [Marcus E. and Ida Speer] oldest child Albert, now in business there [Owensboro] , married Miss Nancy B. Gregory, September 13, 1892, and lived several years at his father's, until he bought a lot and erected a house thereon, into which they moved and where they now live. He is honorable and reliable and can be depended on in all his dealings with his fellow man. He has been in the employ of the ice factory year after year for a number of years, and is still engaged in that service. She is kind and clever, and knows how to administer to the wants of the corporal body, as all who visit them and partake of the good things laced before them know. Three little ones have fallen into their charge - Karl Gregory, the first, born March 19, 1894; Mary Etta, born December 10, 1897; and Erwin Eugena, born August 10, 1898. Their mother's birth took place October 26, 1871. With health, industry and economy, they bid fair to do well under the blessings of the Lord, and may peace, prosperity and happiness attend them as they journey hand in hand along through the busy and varied scenes of life, till the Master calls them."
