Denali Park, Alaska

Viewpoint of Denali

August 11, 1992

We continued on our yellow bus through the colorful hills toward the point called Toklat where we anticipated a view of the mountain. Almost the only traffic on the road was the yellow buses run by the park for tours.

The scenery was very peaceful with herds of caribou grazing in the lush green of the tundra. With the long hours of daylight the growth in the valleys was very luxurious.

We reached the top of the hill and got a wide view of Denali, gleaming white against the sky.

We spent time just enjoying the spectacle of the great mountain.
