Hike to Hidden Lake Overlook, Glacier National Park

August 14, 1993

Shortly after noon, we set out from Logan Pass on the 1.5 mile hike to the Hidden Lake Overlook. The ground was tundra-like and covered with flowers like the indian paintbrush. This indian paintbrush is a different "tundra" variety according to the display at the visitor center.

We passed a number of snowmelt streams on the way up. After the couple of hours that we were on the trail in the heat of the day, the flow was noticeably greater when we returned.

The indian paintbrush and yellow daisies colored the carpet of the tundra. The trail was well defined to save the delicate tundra. Above us was Clements Mountain.
