Chromosomes

The DNA in eukaryotic cells is mostly collected into small structures in the nuclei of the cells called chromosomes. These chromosomes are the collections of genetic material in the cells and contain multiple coding segments called genes which direct the synthesis of proteins, which in turn accomplish most of the work of the cell.
