What is the role of "conservation laws" in physics? What does it mean to say a quantity is "conserved"? If you fire a bullet horizontally and drop another simultaneously, which will hit the ground first? What causes motion? What is the difference between mass and weight? Is an astronaut really weightless? Describe the pairs of forces which illustrate Newton's third law when one block sits on top of another. Describe static and kinetic friction and their applications. Should you lock your wheels in a panic stop or back off the brake a bit to keep your wheels from locking? Do four-wheel drive vehicles stop quicker? Given F=ma, calculate the motion of an object. |
