We started the new year with a remembrance of Edgar, who died on January 2.

A significant snow covers Atlanta on January 9 and delays the opening of class for Rod.

We had a luncheon gathering for the Ga Tech BSU alumni group on January 22.

On February 5 we had an Awana breakfast and trial run for the Awana Racer Derby.

February 16 is the Awana Racer Derby with over 40 kids participating.

We enjoy the new flowers of spring beginning in early March.

For what we sometimes call our Mardi Gras blessing, Jeff and family arrived for a visit in the wee hours of Saturday, March 5. On Monday, March 7, we all visited Mark on the movie set where he was currently working.

We had a beautiful day for an Awana boys hike at Sweetwater Park on April 2.

We had an Awana boys overnight at Bent Tree on April 15-16.

We enjoyed a Living Lord's Supper dramatization in our Sunday service of April 17.

A beautiful Easter Sunday on April 24 brought beautiful evidence of new life outside and inside our church.

On Mother's Day we celebrate the gift of life.

Darla, Pam and Amy came for a conference and brought the girls, so we got to visit with the granddaughters. Rod and the girls explored Sweetwater Park on April 29.

Brenda and Rod flew to Phoenix on Friday, May 20 and on Saturday went to the Saguaro National Park near Tucson. There we had memorable stops at El-Kim-in-Zin, the Golden Gate Road, Desert Discovery Trail, Valley View Trail and Picture Rocks. On Sunday, May 22 we took a short trip out to Saguaro Lake near Phoenix. On Monday morning, May 23 we went out to the Desert Gardens. Jeff and family arrived on Monday evening and on Tuesday, May 24 we all headed out to Montezuma Castle and then to Sedona and Red Rock State Park. On May 25 we went to the South Rim, Grand Canyon and hiked part of the Kaibab Trail and the Rim Trail. Mark joined us and on May 26 we returned to the South Rim and hiked part of the Bright Angel Trail. On May 27 we made the trek along the eastern stretch of the canyon. From there we went through the desert to Marble Canyon and from the Vermillion Cliffs to the North Rim. Saturday May 28 was our day at Grand Canyon North Rim. On May 29 we left Kaibab Lodge and traveled to Bryce Canyon where we hiked the Navajo Loop Trail. We then traveled on to Zion National Park. On May 30 we made a quick trip to Weeping Rock and then traveled back through Zion and on to Page where we toured the Glen Canyon Dam. We then proceeded to Holbrook for the night. May 31 was our day to explore Painted Desert and Petrified Forest. We explored several locations such as Blue Mesa and Agate Bridge. On June 1 we headed back to Phoenix for our flight to Atlanta on June 2.

On June 4 we had Awana men and boys breakfast and a trip to Bent Tree.

On June 5 we started Vacation Bible School with a New York theme.

On June 18 Shirley came from Little Rock to visit and we took off to Jekyll Island for a couple of days.

On July 26 Rod and Brenda flew out to Vancouver for an Alaska Inside Passage Cruise. On Wednesday July 27 we drove to Horseshoe Bay and then on July 28 we drove up the coast as far as Whistler . On July 29 we did a Vancouver tour with Hugh and Kathy Ross and on Saturday July 30 boarded the Zuiderdam to cruise northward. August 1 brought a visit to Juneau. We visited Mendenhall Glacier and took a memorable whale-watching tour. August 2 brought us to Skagway and a rail tour. August 3 took us to Glacier Bay and August 4 to Ketchikan .

On August 13 we had an Awana men and boys trip to Bent Tree.

On September 10 we had our Awana boys breakfast and the boys joined with members of our Sunday School class to help clean up the Lighthouse Community Center. We then went to Sweetwater for a hike to the Factory and lunch.

Some general Fall happenings. Included girls' soccer, Rod doing some steel work for a woodrack, Mark beginning work on the movie "Flight", and battling the squirrels,

We had a great visit with the Farrs and the Jones's at Bent Tree on October 18

Brenda received the Distinguished Alumna Award at the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing Alumni Day on October 21.

On October 22 we traveled to Bent Tree for the wedding of Roger.

On October 31 we celebrated Warren Woolf's 90th birthday with the Georgia Tech BSU Alumni group at Hiawassee.

On November 5 Sherry accompanied us to Ft. Myers, FL to visit Wes. We spent Sunday at Ft. Myers Beach visiting the sand sculptures and enjoying a nice sunset. On Monday we remained at Ft. Myers Beach, went to Sanibel on Tuesday, and were back in Ft. Myers Beach on Wednesday.

We had our fall Awana boys overnight at Bent Tree on Nov 11-12.

Jeff and family arrived on November 19 for their Thanksgiving visit. One treat was to visit Mark on the set for the movie "Flight" where he was building a jetway. We had a great time all week and a family dinner on Thanksgiving Day.

Our Awana children's choirs presented their Christmas music on Sunday, December 4.

December gatherings included the RTB Christmas party and a gathering at our house after the Mt. Harmony Christmas piano concert.

On December 23 we headed out for Pearl River. On Christmas day we went to church with Jeff and family and then celebrated with the Moyle family. We enjoyed more family events through the week.
